Mar 18 - Day 3

Date : March 18, 2024

Jeep Tour and Exploring Volcano

Day 3: Landmannalaugar Super Jeep private tour is also one of our most popular tours. Landmannalaugar is the pearl of Icelandic highlands and one of the biggest geothermal areas in Iceland with the colors, hot springs, rivers, and its rugged landscape surrounding you. It is like being in dreamland: colorful mountains and black sand deserts. We do not have a strict itinerary for this tour since we can take different routes depending on the weather and mountain roads conditions. Possible sights on the way: Hnausapollur, Sigöldugljufur canyon, Frostastaðavatn lake, Ljótipollur crater lake. We will be driving in our modified vehicle through the rough landscape, through the area of Hekla, our most famous volcano, to the breathtaking wilderness of Landmannalaugar.
In Landmannalaugar we hike through the lava fields towards Brennisteinsalda (sulfur mountain) or up-to-the nearby mountains depending on your wishes (sometimes we hike up to the top of Blanjukur mountain). The duration of the hike is approx. 2-2,5 hours or even longer, depending on the group preferences. It is optional to take a bath in the hot spring in Landmannalaugar

Mar 19 - Day 4

Explore Fjallabak Nature Reserve

Day 4: Day 4: We will explore while driving to Fljótshlíð and up to the highlands to Fjallabak Nature Reserve. It is a very remote place with endless possibilities, this place is out of this world, black sand, green moss and melting glacier rivers! It will depend on where we would head to depending on the weather - but there are so many places to hike and explore.

Mar 20 - Day 5

Explore Pórsmörk

Day 5: Þórsmörk is our most popular one and will provide you with an experience of a lifetime, in a breathtaking landscape, surrounded by the volcanic glaciers of Mýrdalsjökull, Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull, the one that erupted in 2010. We take shorter hikes (1-2km) and stop by at some of the beautiful sceneries along the way crossing un-bridged glacier rivers makes the journey to reach Þórsmörk a great adventure. We will see a magnificent canyon and waterfalls and the hikes are incredible.
